Joseph Abolafia
owner

Joseph (owner) is a Seattle native and Queen Anne resident who started his career 30 years ago at Yuki and Wendy’s Salon in Madison Park. It was there he mastered the skills that later became the trademark for Salon Joseph. He opened his first salon several years later with business associate Rory McGowan (Coupe Rokei), until opening Salon Joseph in 1985.

Joseph has attended institutes in Paris and London, as well as spending time in independent European salons. He has attended hair shows in New York, London, and Paris, and is a graduate of the Tony and Guy Advanced Academy in New York and Los Angeles. Providing advanced education and training for his staff has been Joseph’s passion for his entire career, and he's thrilled to recommend the perfect stylist to fit your needs!

Joseph’s gifts for creative design and fashionable yet easy-to-manage styles have earned him many rave reviews, and a very loyal client base, for nearly 30 years. Joseph is as excited about hair now as when he first started, and recently has re-teamed with his former business partner, Rory McGowan!

Rory McGowan

After co-owning and operating the iconic Coupe Rokei Flagship Salon in downtown Seattle for over 30 years, I have rejoined my first business partner, and become part of the Salon Joseph family as of September 2022. It's been a personal pleasure bringing my clients with me!!

Cutting and styling my clients hair is the most satisfying way to express my love of three-dimension art and beauty. I have also created a skincare line, theonlyskincare™, which is sold at Salon Joseph and via my online store.

The hair industry has allowed me to have countless amazing experiences, from photo shoots and runway shows to editorial magazine work and the many excellent classes on different continents.  For appointments, please call or text 206-852-8705.

Ali Miller

Ali has been in the hair and beauty industry for 20 years. She loves doing blondes, haircuts, and extensions (but loves all of it!) She graduated cosmetology school and high school (Utah) together and immediately went to work for Toni&Guy in Dallas, TX, where she became a color educator, teaching all around the DFW area. Ali is excited to be in Seattle, meet new clients and continue to learn and grow her talent. Ali loves to cook and is always on the lookout for new recipes to try. When not outside walking around the city, she can often be found snuggling up on the couch with her kitty and boyfriend, a good old-fashioned chocolate chip cookie (or two) and watching Friends.
